Mount Kilimanjaro

Kilimanjaro cooperated this Sunday morning, clearly visible from the hospital compound. Children church service is at 10 AM today which will be part of our next post.

Arranging our work tasks

Saturday was a day of relaxation – While Roger met with the executive of the Rotary Club of Moshi Kilema and Kati – the rest of us occupied ourselves by exploring our surroundings.

Our first day in Kilema

Hey, everyone we’re here in KILEMA!! We arrived in Kilimanjaro airport around 1:30 in the morning.

Kim Wray was very generous with her shillings to the baggage helpers! We proceeded to Moshi driving on the left hand side of the road. When there the restaurant was closed, but a very keen waitress jumped at the opportunity to get Kilimanjaro beer for Roger. Today, we headed to Kilema, everyone walks men, women, children and the odd cow. The one hour trip up to Kilema, was very lush with banana plants, sunflowers and many vendors on the side of the road. Approaching KILEMA, THE LITTLE BUS THAT COULD, maneuvered its way around dust, potholes and people. We’re here ready to work and enjoying the sights, smells and our company. Hello to everyone at home

Sweat Equity 2011

Almost on our way. On Wed January 5th at group of 14 will travel back to Kilema. We are all very excited about our trip and look forward to sharing some of our experiences with you.
